Since 2011, we have been establishing study centers in Cambodia.  We started with one teacher and a few students.  We have grown to over 500 students at many study center sites within 13 villages with the help of more than 30 Khmer teachers and helpers.

BrightStart Learning, Inc. is an approved 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization that provides educational opportunities and assistance to students in Cambodia's Battambang province. Our goal is to help our students reach their full potential, many of them are more than 3 years behind in their education.  Education is a powerful tool to bring lasting change to the poverty conditions of Cambodia and equip students with hope, morality, and wisdom for a brighter future. We are there to make a difference in their lives.

BrightStart's programs focus on providing outreach-style instruction to underprivileged communities. This style of instruction enables our staff to form meaningful relationships with our students, including a loving interest in their families; it presents opportunities for the Christian members of our staff to share their faith with others; it fills the gaps in public education by working alongside the school system. We strive to keep students from dropping out of school, improve their academic performance, learn about God and enjoy learning.  We cast a broad net of diverse and unique educational programs enabling BrightStart to enter the lives of students, including our Khmer and English-speaking study centers, Bible study and Sunday schools, scholarships, computer training, adult literacy classes, sports and music ministries and basic health and hygiene. All BrightStart classes are free.
